Shrimp

Shrimp is a type of seafood under the Decapoda or "ten-footed" category of the class Malacostraca, along with crabs, lobsters, and crayfish. They are segmented animals, which consist of two main body parts: the head and thorax form the first part and the abdomen creates the other part.

They live in sea water as well as sweet waters such as lakes and rivers and can be found alone as opposed to a part of a school. The species is essential to the food chain, as it serves as food for many larger sea creatures such as fish and whales.

  • The legs and shell can then be removed because the head will come off with the shell.

Fresh shrimp is prepared the same way as the only thing to look for is the smell of ammonia. This is not a good sign and the shrimp should not be consumed.
